Itty Bitty Storage
I have seen these all over the internet so I can't really give credit to the original poster. I finally decided to try them while I was looking at my empty bottle of seltzer this morning & remembering that I had another one in recycling.
If you decide to make one of these, here is what you will need:
- 2 bottles with the same size mouth/lid (1 bottle & 2 lids)
- Sharp utility knife or scissors
Yup, that's it! I bet most people have those things lying around right now.

The first step is to remove the top part from your bottle. I began using a utility knife, but it just wasn't sharp enough & barely scored the plastic, so I gave up and used some heavy duty kitchen shears instead. You could probably use regular scissors, but it might be tough to cut through the bottle.
After cutting the bottle about where it is shown in the photo, it needs to be trimmed right where the bottle begins to flare out.
Try to make this cut as even as possible, you could even go an extra step and use some sand paper or a nail file to even & smooth the edges.
The last step is to press the lid of the other container over the end you just cut. You will have to apply quite a bit of pressure to get it to snap on firmly. I actually put it on the floor & pushed on it gently with my heel. Stomping on it shouldn't be necessary.
There it is a cute little container you can store your tiny things in like:
-small earrings for packing for a trip or to put an extra pair in your purse
-medication
-earplugs
-extra button cell batteries (maybe for a hearing aid)
-small beads
-Those extra buttons that come with a new shirt/jacket
-Spices (salt, pepper etc.) You can pack in your lunch bag.
You can make multiples of these and label the top of the lid with a permanent marker.
What would you store in yours?
