The other day I opened my oven door and was shocked at what I saw. My oven door was completely covered in baked on splatters. It was gross.
Look at that!?! Completely disgusting right? I guess I never really paid much attention to the inside of my oven door. I knew I had to clean it, and knew it would be difficult because it's been baked on. I'm not a fan of the chemical oven cleaners, so I didn't want to use those.
It turned out I had two simple ingredients that would make my oven door look practically brand new again already in my kitchen.

There it is. The only ingredients I needed to make my oven door sparkle again was baking soda and water! Don't believe it can be that simple? Read on.
First you add some baking soda to a bowl.
Then you add some water.
Stir it up until you have a pastey consistancy.
Then you want to spread the baking soda paste all over the door.
Make sure you cover the entire surface you want to clean and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Then you'll want to use a sponge to rub off the baking soda paste. You will see without much effort the baked on goo will start to easily come off without much scrubbing. I had to scrub a little bit harder on a couple areas.
There you have it. A shiny oven door. I don't even think it looked this good when we bought the house!
Now for the inside of the oven. Maybe I'll get to that next week.
